The online numbered list generator instantly creates sequences from 1 to 20.

This tool is perfect for quickly adding numbering in Excel, generating product SKUs, or preparing test-question templates. Supports vertical and horizontal layouts, custom delimiters, leading zeros, and surrounding characters.

How to create a list of numbers 1–20

The range 1–20 is set automatically. Follow four steps:

  • Format: choose “Column” or “Row.”
  • Delimiter: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|” or your own character.
  • Preview: the result appears instantly.
  • Copy: click “Generate” then “Copy” to copy the list to the clipboard.

Additional options

Step (interval): enter an integer to form, for example, 3 → 3, 6, 9… or 10 → 10, 20, 30….

Leading zeros: add zeros before single-digit numbers for equal length: 001, 002… Useful for SKUs or IDs.

Surrounding characters: specify characters before and after the number for brackets, quotes, or other styles.

Delimiters

You can create a list without a delimiter (for columns) or choose a standard one. For a custom symbol, select “Custom.”

Surrounding characters

By default there is no surrounding. To add brackets or other symbols, choose “Custom.”
