List of Roman numerals from 1 to 2000
An online tool for quickly creating lists from 1 to 2000 in Roman numerals.
Perfect for numbering documents, books, event plans, and other lists that use the classical Roman numeral system. Supports vertical or horizontal output, custom delimiters, and optional enclosing symbols.
How to create a 1–2000 list in Roman numerals
The range 1–2000
is inserted automatically. Adjust four parameters:
- Format: “Column” or “Row”.
- Delimiter: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|” or a custom character.
- Preview: the result appears instantly.
- Copy: click “Generate”, then “Copy”.
Additional settings
Step (interval): enter an integer to get, for example, 3 → III, VI, IX…
or 10 → X, XX, XXX…
.
Enclosure: add characters before and after the numeral (parentheses, quotes, etc.).
Delimiters
No delimiter gives a vertical list. To use your own symbol, choose “Custom”.

By default, no enclosure is applied. To add your own symbols, select “Custom” and enter them.

Numbers are formed by addition (VII = 5 + 1 + 1) or subtraction (IV = 5 − 1).

Export to .csv or .txt
After generating, click “Save to file” and choose a format.
Add a prefix before the number
In the “Enclosure” field, type something like Chapter
before the numeral.
Generate in reverse order
Set the start to 2000
and the end to 1
— the list will reverse.
Custom symbols
Select “Custom” and enter the symbols you need.
Multiple characters in the delimiter
In “Custom” you can enter several characters, such as “; ” or “–”.
