The online tool instantly generates sequences from 1 to 400 in Roman numerals.
Ideal for numbering documents, books, event plans, and other structured lists using classic Roman numerals. Supports vertical or horizontal output, custom separators, and optional wrapping.
How to create a 1–400 Roman-numeral list
The range 1–400
is set automatically. Configure four parameters:
- Format: “Column” or “Row”.
- Separator: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|”, or your own symbol.
- Preview: the result appears immediately.
- Copy: click “Generate”, then “Copy” — the list is in the clipboard.

Step: enter an integer interval, e.g. 3 → III, VI, IX…

Wrapping: add symbols before and after the numeral — brackets, quotes, etc.
Separators
By default, no separator (useful for a column). To specify your own, choose “Custom” and type the symbol.

Roman numerals are formed by addition (VII = 5 + 1 + 1) or subtraction (IV = 5 − 1):
