An online tool for quickly generating lists from 1 to 2007 in Roman numerals.

Ideal for numbering documents, books, event plans, and other lists that use the classical Roman numeral system. Supports vertical or horizontal layout, various delimiters, and optional enclosing symbols.

How to create a 1–2007 list in Roman numerals

The range 1–2007 is inserted automatically. Adjust four parameters:

  • Format: “Column” or “Row”.
  • Delimiter: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|”, “comma + space”, “period + space”, or a custom character.
  • Preview: the result updates instantly.
  • Copy: click “Generate”, then “Copy” — the list is in your clipboard.

Additional settings

Step (interval): enter an integer to get, for example, 3 → III, VI, IX… or 10 → X, XX, XXX….

Enclosure: add characters before and after each numeral (parentheses, quotes, etc.).

Without a delimiter, the list is vertical. To specify a custom symbol, choose “Custom”.

Enclosure

By default, no enclosure is applied. To change the style, select “Custom” and enter the desired characters.

How the Roman numeral system works

Numbers are formed by addition (VII = 5 + 1 + 1) or subtraction (IV = 5 − 1).

FAQ

Export to .csv or .txt

After generating, click “Save to file” and choose a format.

Add a prefix before the number

In the “Enclosure” field, type something like Chapter  before the numeral.

Generate in reverse order

Set the start to 2007 and the end to 1 — the list will reverse.

Custom symbols

Select “Custom” and enter the symbols you need.

Multiple characters in the delimiter

In “Custom” you can enter several characters, such as “; ” or “–”.
