An online tool for quickly generating lists from 1 to 2020 in Roman numerals.
Ideal for numbering documents, books, event schedules, and other lists with classical Roman numerals. Supports vertical or horizontal display, custom delimiters, and symbol enclosures.
How to create a 1–2020 Roman-numeral list
The range 1–2020
is inserted automatically. Next, complete four steps:
- Format: choose “Column” or “Row”.
- Delimiter: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|”, “comma + space”, “period + space”, or a custom symbol.
- Preview: the result appears instantly in the preview block.
- Copy: click “Generate”, then “Copy” — the list is now in your clipboard.
Additional settings
Step (interval): enter an integer, e.g. 3 → III, VI, IX…
or 10 → X, XX, XXX…

Enclosure: add characters before and after each numeral (brackets, quotes, etc.).
Delimiters
No delimiter produces a vertical list. To set your own, select “Custom”.

Numbers form by addition (VII = 5 + 1 + 1) or subtraction (IV = 5 − 1).

After generating, click “Save to file” and choose a format.
Add a prefix
In “Enclosure”, enter text such as Chapter
before the numeral.
Reverse order
Set start to 2020
and end to 1
— the list reverses.
Custom symbols
Select “Custom” and enter the symbols you need.
Multiple delimiter characters
In “Custom”, enter a combination such as “; ” or “–”.
