This online tool generates lists from 1 to 300 in Roman numerals.

Useful for numbered lists in documents, books, event plans, and other materials that use classic Roman numeration. Supports vertical and horizontal layouts, custom delimiters, and wrapping.

How to create a 1–300 list in Roman numerals

The range 1–300 is inserted automatically. Follow four steps:

  • Format: choose “Column” or “Row”.
  • Delimiter: comma, period, dash, space, “/”, “|” or a custom character.
  • Preview: the result appears instantly.
  • Copy: click “Generate”, then “Copy”.

Additional settings

Step (interval): enter an integer to get, for example, 3 → III, VI, IX… or 10 → X, XX, XXX….

Wrapping: add characters before and after the numeral (brackets, quotes, etc.).

No delimiter (for vertical lists) or choose a preset symbol. To enter your own, select “Custom”.

How the Roman numeral system works

Roman numerals are built from basic symbols:

Numbers are formed by adding (VII = 5 + 1 + 1) or subtracting (IV = 5 − 1) symbols.

Frequently asked questions

Export to .csv or .txt?

After generating, click “Save to file” and choose a format.

Add a prefix before the numeral?

In the “Wrapping” field, enter text, e.g. Chapter .

Generate in reverse order?

Set 300 as the start and 1 as the end — the list reverses.

Use custom symbols?

Select “Custom” and enter the characters you need.

Multiple delimiter characters?

In “Custom”, enter a sequence, e.g. “; ” or “–”.
